A Letter To My Unborn Daughter

My dear daughter,

I have been thinking about you a lot lately, and this evening, there is nothing else I would rather do than talk to you in the old tree house. But since you are not here right now, I’ve decided to leave you this note, lest I forget the things I want to discuss with you. Your life is too precious to me, so I cannot take any chances with you. I know you. I know you will read this someday.

These are perilous times. As much as it lies within your power, be at peace with everyone but do not strive to please everyone. No matter how hard you try, you will fail trying to please everyone. The more you please a person, the more you will displease another. One thing works for me; I try to please my God and myself, whoever else is satisfied or dissatisfied along the line is inconsequential. This is a key to being yourself and being happy at it.

Respect people but do not worship anyone. Just as you are not superior to anyone, you are not inferior to anyone as well. Don’t let this truth depart from your heart; it is the path to your true identity. Only God deserves to be worshiped, and He does not want us to worship anyone or anything else.

No one can deny that you are a lavishing beauty, but please don’t join them to use the ‘cleavage leverage’. If you were handicapped or unappealing, would seduction be a tool? Your body is only a container for the real you. Always draw from the depths of your character that resides abundantly in that amazingly beautiful body of yours. Then people will accord you the honor and respect you truly deserve because your valid essence is not in how you look, but who you are.

Don’t join those women who compete with men they were created to complete. Coveting the place for men will diminish your feminine virtues. Don’t join the foolishness. Women strength has been indispensable to humanity from the days in Eden Garden, and can only grow stronger in the years to come.  Femininity is extremely powerful. Knowing this is wisdom and using it right is virtue. As the queen, you can only effectively exercise your authority in your own domain. Discover your feminine domains.

Please don’t engage in trivialities, materialism, shallowness and those foolish things that cheaply subjugate the typical woman. You are not just another Jane. You are my daughter, God’s special master piece, intelligently crafted for a meaningful life of purpose. That’s who you are. Don’t let anything or anyone steal that from you, ever.

I know you will meet your man someday. I know he will love you as much as I do. I know he will be a great man. Don’t be misled however because often times, greatness does not come in royal regalia. Though it cannot be hidden, an ordinary eye may not recognize it. But not to worry, he will be easy for you to spot. Just like iron filings to a magnet, greatness attracts greatness. He may not look like it when you meet him, but you sure will identify him.

He will be true. He will be honorable. He will be your friend. He will respect you. He will protect you. He will love you. But he will not be perfect, and that’s why you were made – to complete him. If you can complete him, if you can love him back and submit to him, then he is him.

I want to talk to you about love, about beauty, about pains, about life, about death, about God and things I don’t understand yet, but oops, you are not even conceived yet. I will love you forever, my angel.

Your Dad.
